The Christian Union organise and host a variety of regular weekly events, as well as many special one-off events over the course of the year to serve students at Imperial and to work towards making sure that all students have the opportunity to respond to the Gospel.
Find out about upcoming events using the calendar below, and have a read about our regular events.
Dr. John Wyatt Profesor of Ethics and Perinatology at University College London tackles a difficult question which faces us all. Why is life for many people so difficult? How can there be a loving God amongst the pain? Come to hear John speak on the matter before taking questions from the floor.
Counting the Clouds, a new one-act play by Nigel Forde followed by conversation with leading scientists.
Taking questions from the audience to a panel of academic Imperial staff members who will talk about how their Christian faith and work in the field of science plays out.
Come to celebrate Chinese New year with us together! There will be New Year snacks brought from Hong Kong, games, and thoughts shared by two Chinese Christians. We will then head to Queensway for Chinese Cuisine.
We have four regular events which take place every week during term-time:
Friday 12:00 – Royal School of Mines
Skeptical is a space where we try and discuss openly and honestly how the Bible responds to issues such as suffering, or science and religion.
There will be a short talk from a speaker, and then a Q&A, all over a completely free lunch, provided by the Christian Union.
Wednesday 13:00 – See ICCU Facebook Page for location details, or contact Christian Badhan
A discussion group investigating the life and claims of Jesus Christ in John’s Gospel. No matter what believes you hold, come to read and discuss.
This group is ideal if you are looking to investigate for yourself, the claims of Christianity.
It is also a forum where wider questions are welcome!
Thursday, From 18:00, Start at 18:15 – Huxley LT 311
HUB is our main meeting as a Christian Union. Our passion as a CU is to make HUB a place where Christians are equipped and encouraged for evangelism, by the gospel, while enabling anyone who wouldn’t call themselves a Christian to hear and learn more about the great message of Jesus.
We meet together weekly to sing, pray, hear the Bible read and taught to us, encourage one another in our evangelism and to chill out with each other, usually over pizza and refreshments! HUB is a great opportunity to connect with others, motivating and encouraging one another to go out and spread the gospel on campus.
Friday 08:00 – The Chaplaincy (10 Princes Gardens, SW7 1NA)
Every Friday morning the Christian Union meet to pray and enjoy some food together. We will often pray about the CU, for eachother and for the wider world. And if waking up early isn’t your thing, it’s still worth it since there may be bacon!
